Imola lights up for the 6 Hours of Imola of the FIA WEC: music, motorsport, and flavours in the historic centre
When the FIA World Endurance Championship returns to the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit, the city of Imola, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, doesn't stand idly by. With the Imola Fan City Experience, the historic centre becomes a natural extension of the paddock: a widespread festival that accompanies the 6 Hours of Imola and brings all the adrenaline, music, and flavours of the race weekend to the squares. The idea is simple and winning: those without a ticket for the circuit can still experience the World Championship atmosphere by strolling through the city centre, and those who come to Imola for the races find a celebration in town that continues late into the night.
The focal point of the initiative is the Terre&Motori Village set up in Piazza Matteotti, where live music, DJ sets, street food, gaming, and driving simulators are concentrated. Around it, the entire historic centre becomes a stage: in Piazza Gramsci, the Pit Stop Party and the photographic exhibition dedicated to Ferrari; in Piazza Medaglie d'Oro, DJ sets on the terrace; in Piazza Caduti per la Libertร , car exhibitions, while Palazzo Tozzoni hosts an art exhibition inspired by motorsport.
The programme intertwines three souls: entertainment, with evening concerts and DJ sets that liven up the city streets; motorsport, with exhibitions, show cars, historic models, simulators, and the highly anticipated "Meet the Drivers" events to meet the season's protagonists; and gastronomy, with street food and offerings from Imola's restaurants and pastry shops celebrating local products. There are also activities for families and children, themed markets, and guided city tours.
Promoted by the Municipality of Imola, the Fan City Experience was created to further link the city to the sporting event, supporting the merchants, restaurateurs, and artisans of the historic centre. WEC Night Shopping keeps shops open into the evening, while a free shuttle service connects the Racetrack to the city centre on key days. An intelligent way to transform an international race into a popular celebration capable of involving the entire Imola community.
The 2026 edition of the Imola Fan City Experience took place from Thursday, April 16 to Sunday, April 19, coinciding with the 6 Hours of Imola of the World Endurance Championship at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. The historic centre was enlivened by widespread parties, international DJ sets, motorsport exhibitions, and a rich gastronomic offer, with the Terre&Motori Village in Piazza Matteotti serving as the headquarters.
Imola is easily reachable by train (Imola station on the Bologna-Rimini line) and by car from the A14 motorway, Imola exit. The historic centre, where the Fan City Experience takes place, is a short walk from the station.
All Fan City Experience events in the city centre are free admission. To attend the FIA WEC races at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, a ticket is required, available on the circuit's official channels.
On the main days, a free shuttle service will run between the Racetrack and the historic centre. It is advisable to reach the centre on foot or by public transport, given the crowds.
