Immaculate Conception Feast and Fair

A tradition of the Salento hinterland

The Immaculate Conception Feast and Fair is one of the most cherished events in Castrì di Lecce, a small town in the Salento hinterland, located in the Province of Lecce, just over fifteen kilometers from the regional capital. Every December 8th, the day the Church celebrates the Immaculate Conception, the town gathers in devotion to the Madonna and renews a fair that has been part of the community's collective memory for generations.

The morning fair

The beating heart of the event is the traditional market that springs to life in the early morning hours along the streets of the town center. True to Salento's rural heritage, you will find stalls selling livestock, farming equipment, and various wares, alongside vendors offering local products, sweets, and handicrafts.
