Il Fiume dei Libri is the literary festival of Lodi, the provincial capital in Lombardy, created to revitalise the city's cultural environment and bring the Adda river back to the centre of city life. The guiding idea is simple and evocative: culture flows like water, making fertile all it touches. This metaphor forms the basis of a programme that intertwines literature, the environment, and sustainability.

Great authors on the banks of the Adda

The festival brings over twenty-five prominent Italian authors to Lodi, with meetings mainly held in Piazza della Vittoria and at Piarda Ferrari, a picturesque spot overlooking the river. Dialogues, presentations, and readings animate the days, offering the public the chance to meet established and emerging writers up close.

A festival for the city

The artistic direction is entrusted to Cadore 33. In addition to literary encounters, the festival offers previews, collateral events, and dispersed moments that open Lodi's summer cultural season. It is an event that has quickly won its own audience, intertwining great literature with themes of water and the environment, in deep harmony with the city's river identity.
