The Sunday of Chamber Music

In Lodi, there's an event that marks the winter and spring Sundays: Domeniche in Concerto, the chamber music series by Accademia F. Gaffurio. Ten concerts, one every Sunday afternoon at 5 PM, in the Accademia Hall at Via Solferino 20, with an almost symbolic entrance fee: one euro. A formula that has made great chamber music popular with the Lodi public.

Trios, Duos, and Soloists

The programme features various formations – trios, duos, solo recitals – and spans a vast repertoire. It ranges from the baroque of Bach to romantic transcriptions (Wagner-Liszt), from Viennese classics to Schubert and Schumann, up to the 20th century with Scriabin, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninov. A quality programme that brings established performers and young musicians to Lodi.

A Lodi Institution

The series is organised by the Amici della Musica A. Schmid together with the Accademia F. Gaffurio, two historic organisations in the city's musical life. The Gaffurio Academy, named after the great Renaissance music theorist Franchino Gaffurio (who adopted Lodi), has been the benchmark for musical education and dissemination in the city for decades.

The symbolic ticket price is not a minor detail: it is the very philosophy of the series, designed to bring as many people as possible closer to chamber music.
