The grand evening festival that kicks off the season in the heart of Anacapri
The Historic Center White Night is the evening event that launches the season in Anacapri, the town located in the upper part of the island of Capri, in the Province of Naples, Campania. For an entire evening, the ancient heart of the town dresses up for the occasion: shops stay open, windows are illuminated, and music and performances turn the village streets into a grand open-air stage, welcoming residents and visitors of all ages.
The event takes place along Via Orlandi, the main artery of the historic center, from Piazza Vittoria to the intersection with Via Pagliaro. Along the way, you will find musical stages, craft stalls, art displays, and food points, while a map distributed to visitors helps navigate the various attractions scattered throughout the squares and alleys.
The program weaves together various artistic forms. The soundtrack is provided by several artistic stations and local bands that animate the streets with live music, while theatrical performances highlight the most picturesque corners of the village. There is no shortage of street art: acrobats, fire-eaters, stilt walkers, and dancers bring the circus-like, spectacular spirit of the evening to the crowds. The experience is completed by art exhibitions and workshops by Anacapri artisans.
The White Night is also designed for children, with creative workshops and playful activities distributed along the route. Street food offerings from bars and restaurants, featuring local specialties and traditional dishes, accompany the stroll and make the evening a moment of community sharing.
The event, established in 2022, is organized by the Ascom of Anacapri (Merchants' Association) in synergy with FX-TREME by Paolo Caiazzo, with the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Anacapri. Over the years, it has become a fixed appointment on the local calendar, successfully combining the promotion of local commerce with the cultural enhancement of the historic center. Admission is free.
The fifth edition, scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 7:30 PM, inaugurated the summer season in Anacapri: the decision to move the event to May opened the rich calendar of appointments that animate the village until September. The route followed Via Orlandi, from Piazza Vittoria to the intersection with Via Pagliaro.
Anacapri is located on the island of Capri, in the Province of Naples. It can be reached by sea via ferries and hydrofoils from Naples (Molo Beverello or Calata Porta di Massa) and from Sorrento to Marina Grande di Capri; from there, you can reach Anacapri by bus or taxi. The historic center and Piazza Vittoria are easily accessible on foot.
Access to the White Night is free and open to everyone.
