International eventing competition in Morghengo di Caltignaga
The Guidolin Cup is one of the highlights of the Italian spring calendar for eventing. It takes place at the Sporting Club Monterosa Novara, located in the hamlet of Morghengo, in the municipality of Caltignaga, in the province of Novara, in the heart of Piedmont. The flat terrain of the Novara countryside offers ideal conditions for the three disciplines of eventing and provides spectators with excellent visibility of the cross-country course.
Eventing combines the three fundamental disciplines of equestrian sport into a single event, spread over several days of competition:
The Guidolin Cup offers all international eventing categories, from pony classes (CCIP) to the weekend's flagship event, the CCI3*-L, as well as CCI1*, CCI2*-L, and CCI3*-S. The competition attracts riders from numerous European nations and, in recent editions, from Asian countries, for whom the Morghengo stage represents a useful step toward continental qualifications.
Organized by the Sporting Club Monterosa Novara, the event is part of a rich equestrian season that also sees the club dedicated to training young riders. The meticulous maintenance of the course and the technical quality of the competition officials have rapidly increased the prestige of the event, which attracts some of the world's best course designers.
With free admission, the Guidolin Cup is an opportunity open not only to equestrian enthusiasts but also to families and curious visitors who wish to discover the spectacle of eventing up close. A significant sporting showcase for Caltignaga, Novara, and the entire Piedmont region.
