The square comes alive with barbecue
Griglie Roventi is one of the most beloved events of the summer in Jesolo, in the Province of Venice. A small army of grillers gathers in Piazza Torino: pairs of strictly non-professional cooks compete live, each at their own station, in a barbecue competition that mixes skill, wit, and community spirit.
How the challenge works
The contestants are tasked with transforming the raw ingredients provided into a perfect dish. A jury evaluates the meat cooking, the taste, the presentation of the dish, but also the cooks' friendliness, in a balance between technique and fun that is the event's true hallmark.
A party for the whole family
Around the competition, the Piazza Torino arena becomes a stage: music, dancing, and karaoke with Radio WOW liven up the evening, while the little ones find games and activities dedicated to them. Admission is free and the atmosphere is typical of the great summer festivals on the Veneto coast.
A historic Jesolo summer event
Now in its numerous editions, Griglie Roventi is a classic of the Jesolo summer season, capable of combining the convivial tradition of grilling with the energy of a large outdoor entertainment event.
Griglie Roventi — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, titled "Accendi la Piazza" (Light Up the Square), brings approximately 200 grillers to Piazza Torino. The event is scheduled for the evening of July 11, starting around 7:00 PM, with the usual reserve for the following days in case of bad weather.
The evening combines the cooking challenge with an entertainment program featuring music, dancing, and karaoke with Radio WOW and games for children, in a festive, free-admission atmosphere.

Saturday, July 11 — Piazza Torino, from 7:00 PM
- Opening of the arena and setup of competitor stations
- Start of the competition: approximately 200 grillers (pairs of non-professional cooks) at the grills
- Jury evaluation of cooking, taste, dish presentation, and cooks' friendliness
- Music, dancing, and karaoke with Radio WOW
- Games for children
- Final award ceremony for the winners
In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to July 12-13, 2026.

How to get there
By car from the A4 motorway, exit at Noventa di Piave-San Donà and take the SS14 towards Jesolo; by train to San Donà di Piave-Jesolo with a bus to the seaside resort.
