The Festa de a Poenta Bianca is the traditional event that the Pro Loco of San Donà di Piave, in the province of Venice, organizes as the closing event of the Fiera del Rosario. The absolute protagonist is white polenta, a symbol of Venetian peasant cuisine, prepared and served in Piazza Indipendenza on long tables.
The districts' challenge
The heart of the festival is the competition between the city's districts, which offer their white polenta specialties at the food stands. A contest of flavors and local pride that involves the entire community of San Donà in a great popular festival.
Folklore, shows, and Palio dee Carioe
The program alternates folk shows, a musical band, theatre, and street arts. An unmissable moment is the Palio dee Carioe, the spectacular and fun cart race in the pedestrian area, which has attracted large crowds for years. A mix of taste and tradition that cheerfully closes the autumn in San Donà di Piave.
White Polenta Feast — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, scheduled for October as the traditional closing of the Fiera del Rosario – confirmed by the administration among the fixed city events for 2026 – brings the grand white polenta festival back to Piazza Indipendenza. The districts of San Donà will return to compete at the stoves, accompanied by folk shows, a musical band, and the fun Palio dee Carioe.
