Grigliata Sotto le Stelle is the convivial summer event hosted by the Pro Loco of Moransengo in the municipality of Moransengo-Tonengo, in the Province of Asti. It is one of those authentic village festivals that capture the true spirit of rural Piedmont: a long outdoor table, a glowing grill, the aroma of barbecued meat, and an entire community coming together as the days grow longer and the warm season arrives.

Where it takes place

Moransengo-Tonengo is a small municipality formed in 2023 from the merger of Moransengo and Tonengo, nestled among the hills of the Lower Monferrato, a land of wine and hazelnuts. With just over four hundred inhabitants, the village retains the charm of a place dominated by castles and the parish church of San Michele. It is in this peaceful setting, far from mass tourism, that the barbecue becomes a moment of celebration for the whole village and its visitors.

The atmosphere

The formula is simple and well-tested: gather together at dusk, enjoy a dinner prepared by the Pro Loco volunteers, and spend the evening in high spirits with good food and conversation. It is a classic local gastronomic event, entirely volunteer-run, where the focus is more on togetherness than a packed schedule. It is the perfect opportunity to discover Piedmontese convivial cuisine and the hospitality of an Asti village.

How to participate

As this is a dinner with limited seating, reservations are mandatory. Simply contact the organizers in advance to reserve your spot at the table. The evening takes place outdoors; in case of bad weather, it is advisable to check for any updates with the Pro Loco or on the municipal website.
