Nardò, the capital of natural wellness and sustainability
Every year, at the beginning of summer, the historic center of Nardò (Lecce province, Puglia) transforms into Green Bio Town, a widespread event entirely dedicated to natural wellness, environmental sustainability, and the circular economy. The Baroque squares and alleys of the city become a vast experiential path where nature, culture, and new lifestyles meet.
The heart of the event is the scenic Piazza Salandra, which hosts debates, talks, meetings, and evening artistic performances. From here, the route winds through the alleys of the historic center, where excellent exhibitors, green start-ups, artisans, and producers present innovative products and services focused on sustainability. A special space is reserved for the Botanical Garden, an oasis of approximately 5,000 square meters dedicated to holistic disciplines and natural health, where the public can meet wellness practitioners and discover practices linked to the harmony between body and environment.
The common thread of Green Bio Town is the relationship between humans and nature. The festival addresses topics such as green building, sustainable agriculture, conscious nutrition, holistic wellness, and the circular economy, with the goal of raising awareness among citizens and visitors. The event itself is designed with a very low environmental impact: waste sorting is managed with wooden bins, and the decor is crafted from natural raw materials.
Green Bio Town is organized by the association A.S.N. – Angeli per la Salute Naturale, chaired by Maruska Ciricugno, and is supported by the Municipality of Nardò, the Province of Lecce, and the Puglia Region. Over the years, the event has grown to become a benchmark for Salento on sustainability issues, successfully combining education, entertainment, and the promotion of Nardò's historic center.
The fourth edition of Green Bio Town brought Nardò to life for a full week, from June 1 to 7, 2026, confirming the growth of the local event dedicated to sustainability and natural wellness. The Baroque historic center transformed into an immersive path featuring excellent exhibitors, green start-ups, and artisans, while the Botanical Garden hosted holistic practitioners across approximately 5,000 square meters. Piazza Salandra served as the stage for daytime debates and evening artistic performances.
The event was produced with a very low environmental impact, using waste sorting in wooden bins and decor made from natural materials.
