About Livestock Show

The Villeneuve Livestock Show is the spring cattle exhibition of the Grand-Paradis Union of Municipalities, dedicated to the Aosta Valley breed. Organised by AREV, it brings together breeders from the area to present their finest and most productive animals: a celebration of rural life and a promotion of one of the symbolic breeds of mountain agriculture in the Aosta Valley, well-suited to mid and high-altitude pastures.

The Aosta Valley Breed on Display

The Grand-Paradis Livestock Show is the spring cattle exhibition held in Villeneuve, in the province of Aosta, dedicated to the Aosta Valley breed. Organised by AREV (Regional Association of Aosta Valley Breeders), it brings together breeders from the Union of Municipalities of Grand-Paradis, who present their best animals in an atmosphere of celebration and healthy competition.

Between Rural Tradition and Promotion

Livestock shows are a fundamental event for the Aosta Valley's agricultural sector: they serve to promote the animals, connect breeders and buyers, and support the dissemination of the breeds raised. The Aosta Valley breed, robust and perfectly adapted to mid and high-altitude pastures, is one of the symbols of mountain agriculture in the Aosta Valley and also features in famous traditions such as the Batailles de Reines (Cow Fights).

A Regional Circuit

The Villeneuve show is part of the spring calendar of livestock exhibitions that, from one municipality to another, travel through all the Unions of the region, culminating in the National Competition and the Regional Market in Aosta. A journey that tells the story of the Aosta Valley's rural identity and the deep bond between its communities and livestock farming.
