The autumn festival of the Aosta Valley apple, in the green area of Gressan
In Gressan, a municipality overlooking the Aosta plain in the Valle d'Aosta, the Fita di Pomme (the "apple festival" in Aosta Valley patois) is the autumn event celebrating the symbolic fruit of local agriculture. The apple is, in fact, the most cultivated fruit in the region, and here it finds its most genuine showcase.
The heart of the festival is the exhibition-market where local producers directly sell their apples and derivatives. Among the stalls, you can find all the varieties grown in the valley: Renettes, Jonagolds, Goldens, and Red Delicious, alongside juices, jams, and processed products. There is also space for local crafts, with stalls animating the village's green area.
The food stalls offer specialties linked to apples and the autumn season — from apple fritters to cakes, including roasted chestnuts — while the Pro Loco's kitchen offers a typical lunch. The day is marked by music and entertainment, with a particular focus on children thanks to the "Apple Village" and numerous activities for kids.
Organised by the Pro Loco of Gressan and often combined with the "Produit de l'Auton" exhibition dedicated to autumn products, the Fita di Pomme is much more than a sagra: it's Gressan's way of showcasing its agricultural vocation and welcoming visitors on one of the most colourful days of the Aosta Valley autumn.
The 2026 edition of the Fita di Pomme, the 42nd in its history, renews the autumn appointment in Gressan with the apple festival. In the green area of the Grand Chalet, the Pro Loco offers the exhibition-market of apples and derivatives, food stalls, local crafts, entertainment, and the Apple Village for children. The exact date will be confirmed by the Pro Loco; traditionally, the festival falls in the first half of October.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Pro Loco of Gressan closer to the event. Based on the usual structure of the day:
