The showcase of Penisola Sorrentina PDO wines in the heart of the Lattari Mountains
Gragnano da Bere is the event that the Municipality of Gragnano, in the province of Naples, dedicates to the wines with the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) of the Sorrento Peninsula. Created to give visibility to the young producers' consortium, the festival has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the Campanian culinary spring, attracting enthusiasts, sommeliers, industry journalists, and curious visitors to the hills of the Lattari Mountains.
At the heart of the event are the four types of Penisola Sorrentina PDO: the unmistakable sparkling red wines of Gragnano and Lettere, alongside the still white and red wines of Sorrento. These are wines with a strong identity, tied to a landscape of steep terraces and vines clinging to the mountainside, which have experienced a true qualitative renaissance in recent years. At Gragnano da Bere, these wines tell their story in their place of origin, glass after glass.
The format combines moments reserved for professionals with evenings open to the public. Over the two days, there are guided tours of the consortium's vineyards, in-depth masterclasses led by experts and sommeliers, educational workshops with local schools and associations, and live cooking shows featuring pairings between PDO wines and local cuisine. In the tasting area, you can meet the consortium's wineries and discover typical products of the Lattari Mountains, from the famous panuozzo to Gragnano PGI pasta.
Gragnano da Bere traditionally opens the city's event season, which continues with the Panuozzo Festival and the Cherry Festival. The event is held under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Naples and is part of the calendar promoted by the Municipality of Gragnano to enhance the agri-food excellence of Campania and the winemaking identity of the Sorrento Peninsula.
For 2026, Gragnano da Bere chose the setting of Località Aurano, in the Massi area, hosting two days entirely dedicated to Penisola Sorrentina PDO wines on May 24 and 25. The event inaugurated the rich calendar of events promoted by the Municipality of Gragnano, which continues in the following weeks with the Panuozzo Festival and the Cherry Festival.
At the center of the edition, as always, were the sparkling red wines of Gragnano and Lettere and the still white and red wines of Sorrento, showcased through tastings, tours of the Lattari Mountains vineyards, masterclasses, and informative sessions led by experts. The event, supported by the Metropolitan City of Naples, reaffirmed Gragnano's role as a showcase for the food and wine excellence of the Sorrento Peninsula.
Gragnano can be reached by car via the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway (Castellammare di Stabia exit) and by train using the Circumvesuviana line to the Gragnano station. Some editions offer a shuttle service from the train station to the vineyards.
Access to the tasting area is generally free; some masterclasses and vineyard tours require booking.
For accommodation, you can base yourself in Gragnano, the nearby Castellammare di Stabia, or along the Sorrento Coast, all of which are easily connected.
