Classical music at the Royal Castle of Govone, a UNESCO World Heritage site
Govone Smart Music is one of the most anticipated cultural events of the spring in the Roero region. Every May, the prestigious Salone delle Feste of the Royal Castle of Govone, a Savoy residence recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, hosts a series of classical and chamber music concerts that turn Sunday afternoons into a sophisticated sonic journey.
The festival is part of Regalmente Rosa, an event that enlivens the Castle and its famous gardens throughout the month of May in the town of Govone, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. The concept is to blend the architectural beauty of the 18th-century residence with the quality of great music, creating a continuous dialogue between art, history, and the local territory.
Each appointment features different ensembles and repertoires: from piano four-hands to guitar duos, from countertenor voice with harp to vocal and instrumental ensembles. The programs are built around evocative themes, such as spring, water, or the historical events of the House of Savoy, offering the audience fresh perspectives.
The concerts take place in the afternoon, typically at 5:30 PM, and are designed as a moment of pause and discovery accessible to everyone. Admission is free, with reservations recommended due to the limited capacity of the Salone delle Feste.
Govone is a small village in the Roero region whose fame is inextricably linked to its Royal Castle, an ancient Savoy residence with elegant forms and scenic gardens. The Govone Smart Music festival enhances this heritage by making it a living setting, where music resonates among frescoes and historic halls, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to experience the Castle in a new way.
The 2026 edition of Govone Smart Music offered four Sunday appointments in the Salone delle Feste of the Royal Castle of Govone, all at 5:30 PM and with free admission, within the Regalmente Rosa festival. A musical journey built around evocative themes, from spring to water and the historical events of the House of Savoy, which confirmed the festival's vocation: uniting great music and Savoyard heritage in the heart of the Roero.
