Two days of independent music in the historic center of Casola Valsenio
The Good Sound Festival is one of the most curious and exciting realities on the independent music scene in Emilia-Romagna. Every summer, it transforms the historic center of Casola Valsenio, a small town in the Province of Ravenna nestled in the Senio valley, into a widespread stage where avant-garde music meets the squares, alleys, and houses of a village in the Faenza Apennines.
The event was born in 2021 from the association Lega del Suono Buono APS, founded by a group of musicians who had created a studio and rehearsal room in Casola with their own savings. From that experience, the idea of a festival capable of bringing professional musicians to the town and making it known externally germinated. As president Stefano Rinaldi Ceroni recounts, the objective is explicit: "to give hope to the hilly periphery" and contribute to the repopulation of an area that is geographically disadvantaged. Around the event, about sixty young volunteers are involved, and since 2024, the Municipality has entrusted the association with a 160-seat multi-purpose hall.
The program is not limited to live performances and DJ sets: during the two days, the historic center hosts permanent exhibitions, installations, meetings, and vinyl record displays, in an atmosphere that blends a village festival with underground culture. The festival is also eco-sustainable, with reusable cups, a free water dispenser, and compostable tableware.
Known as the "town of herbs," Casola Valsenio offers the festival a unique setting: the hills, the medieval village, and a community that rallies around an eagerly awaited event. For those who want to discover a different side of Romagna beyond the coast, the Good Sound Festival is the perfect opportunity to combine good music, nature, and hospitality.
For 2026, the Good Sound Festival confirms its two-day format, Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, in the historic center of Casola Valsenio. Free admission, free camping at Pertini Park, and the event's eco-sustainable ethos are confirmed. The program brings the usual selection of independent and avant-garde music to the village in the Faenza Apennines, complemented by evening DJ sets.
Passes for camping can be collected at the festival's gazebo starting from 7:00 PM on Friday, June 19. Concerts and DJ sets take place in the historic center; detailed times and any program updates will be published on the official website.
Casola Valsenio can be reached by car via the Casolana road, which connects Riolo Terme and Faenza to Tuscany. The nearest train stations are Faenza and Imola, on the Bologna-Rimini line, from which you can continue with bus connections.
Admission to the festival is free. Free camping is available at Pertini Park, equipped with spaces for tents, bathrooms, and showers; registration is done via an online form and pass collection at the festival's gazebo. Those staying in Casola receive a Pool Pass with discounted entry to the municipal swimming pool.
