Barge's spring fair: flowers, flavors, and fun at the foot of the Monviso
When spring arrives, Barge dresses up for the occasion. The Golosità del Monviso spring edition is the festival that kicks off the season in this town in the Po Valley, in the province of Cuneo, at the foot of the imposing Monviso. For two days, the historic center turns into a massive open-air showcase: flowers, plants, local food and wine, handicrafts, and hobbies fill the covered market area, the squares, and the town streets.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Barge with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of local associations and their volunteers. It is considered the second largest event of the year in town, right after the historic Carnival with its night parade. The program is designed to please everyone: from flower and nursery markets to swap-and-barter markets, from an area dedicated to our four-legged friends to nature demonstrations, and even a supercar rally that attracts enthusiasts from all over the province.
As the name suggests, food takes center stage. At the Pro Loco stands, you can sample local specialties and take part in the famous Pranzo delle golosità (Gourmet Lunch), a convivial moment that captures the spirit of the event. Lively evenings, games for children, and free mini-moto and trial bike activities complete a program that combines taste, fun, and Barge's love for its valley—a corner of Piedmont where the mountains meet the Cuneo plains.
Golosità del Monviso 2026 turned Barge into a grand spring festival over the weekend of April 11-12. Organized by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality, the edition confirmed the successful formula that combines markets, local flavors, and fun for all ages, drawing enthusiasts and visitors from across the province of Cuneo.
The fair is held in the historic center of Barge (CN), in the town's main squares: Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza della Madonna, Piazza San Giovanni, Viale Mazzini, and the covered market area, as well as the PalaFlower in Piazza Garibaldi.
Barge is located in the Po Valley, on the Cuneo plain at the foot of the Monviso. It can be reached by car from Saluzzo and Pinerolo along the provincial roads. The center is easily walkable during the event days.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Barge in collaboration with the Municipality. The detailed program is published every year in the local press and on the Pro Loco channels in the weeks leading up to the fair. Some activities, such as the Gourmet Lunch, require reservations.
