About Glaudins Festival

The Sagre dai Glaudins is the historic festival of Visinale del Judrio, a hamlet of Corno di Rosazzo, dedicated to 'glaudins', the wild hop shoots harvested in spring. The signature dish is the 'glaudins' omelette, a presidium of Friulian tradition, served amidst music, dancing, the game of morra, and a market.

The Wild Hop Festival

For almost half a century, at the end of May, the hamlet of Visinale del Judrio (Corno di Rosazzo) has celebrated a spontaneous and precious product of Friuli: 'glaudins', the tender wild hop shoots that grow along the woods and waterways. They resemble wild asparagus but have a more herbaceous and slightly bitter taste, and it is around them that one of the most characteristic festivals in eastern Friuli revolves.

The Omelette That Makes History

The signature dish is the 'glaudins' omelette, 'fertae cui glaudins' in Friulian: a humble dish of peasant tradition, linked to spring harvesting, which the festival has transformed into the absolute protagonist. Alongside the omelette, the food stand offers the flavors of Friulian cuisine, accompanied by local wines.

Tradition, Music, and Morra

Evenings alternate between aperitifs with DJs, traditional dinners, music, and dancing, culminating in the game of 'morra', an ancient hand game that persists in Friulian festivals, and the craft market. A forest bathing experience is also available, recalling the festival's connection with the surrounding nature.

A Community Coming Together

Organized by the local Pro Loco with the support of the Municipality of Corno di Rosazzo, the Sagre dai Glaudins is above all a community event: a way to keep a unique gastronomic tradition alive and to rediscover the spontaneous flavors of the Judrio hills.
