Tastings of Sicilian wines under the starry August sky, between the Castle of Carini and the Torre Ventimiglia in Montelepre
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Glasses Under the Stars at the Castle of Carini is the Palermo-based edition of Calici di Stelle, the summer wine event promoted nationally by the Wine Tourism Movement and dedicated to the night of San Lorenzo. For three evenings, the village of Carini, in the Province of Palermo, welcomes enthusiasts and curious visitors within the walls of its most fascinating monument, the La Grua Talamanca Castle, and, on the final evening, at the Torre Ventimiglia in Montelepre.
The program is designed as a true journey through the island's terroirs. The evenings alternate between the different souls of Sicilian viticulture: volcanic wines from Mount Etna, labels from Western Sicily, and those from the smaller islands and the south-east. The tasting stations, set up in the courtyards and on the castle terraces, are complemented by cultural insights, such as the seminar dedicated to the story of Sicilian wine, covering its history, territories, and the future of viticulture.
Glasses Under the Stars is more than just wine. The evenings are marked by Renaissance music concerts, guided tours of the monumental spaces, and, above all, stargazing from the terraces and the Chiostro del Carmine: a poetic dialogue between oenology and the magic of August nights. There are also workshops for families, such as "Let's Play Among the Stars," featuring creative activities designed for children.
The event embraces two symbolic locations in the metropolitan area of Palermo: the Castle of Carini, a medieval fortress linked to the famous legend of the Baroness, and the Torre Ventimiglia in Montelepre, which hosts the closing evening. The event is organized by Collisioni ETS, with the support of the Metropolitan City of Palermo and the patronage of the Municipality of Carini, and has established itself as one of the most anticipated wine events of the Sicilian summer.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Glasses Under the Stars at the Castle of Carini have not yet been announced. The event, dedicated to the night of San Lorenzo, is traditionally held in the first half of August between the Castle of Carini and the Torre Ventimiglia in Montelepre, in the Province of Palermo.
The established format includes three evenings of Sicilian wine tastings (from Etna, Western Sicily, and the smaller islands), concerts, seminars, and stargazing from the terraces. The detailed 2026 program will be published by the organizer, Collisioni ETS, on official channels. It is recommended to check dates and booking procedures on the official website before planning your visit.
