About Giugno Antoniano

Every June, Padua comes together around its Saint. The Giugno Antoniano is the major programme that accompanies the feast of Saint Anthony, weaving together the traditional Tredicina (thirteen days of prayer) and the Solemnity of June 13th with about thirty cultural events: concerts, shows, exhibitions, conferences, and dance performances, hosted at the Basilica del Santo and other venues in the city. The XX edition is linked to the eighth centenary of the Passing of Saint Francis, focusing on the bond between the Poor Man of Assisi and the Saint of Padua.

The Saint's Feast Becomes a Month of Events

Giugno Antoniano is the festival that, since 2007, has accompanied devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua with a broad cultural programme. The heart of the event is the Basilica del Santo, one of the most frequented pilgrimage destinations in the world, around which a calendar unfolds that combines faith, art, music, and reflection. The spiritual core remains the Tredicina di Sant'Antonio and the Solemnity of June 13th, the most significant day of the year for the people of Padua and for devotees worldwide.

About Thirty Events Combining Faith and Culture

The programme offers around thirty events: concerts of author, contemporary, baroque, and sacred music, theatre performances, and increasingly, dance performances; exhibitions โ€” such as one of Franciscan nativity scenes and dioramas โ€” study conferences, and book presentations. Events are held in the Basilica, in the Sala San Bonaventura, and in other locations in Padua, with some events extending to municipalities in the Antonian territory like San Giorgio delle Pertiche and Camposampiero, linked to the places of the Saint's life.

The XX Edition Under the Sign of Francis and Anthony

The twentieth-anniversary edition coincides with the celebrations of the eighth centenary of the Passing of Saint Francis of Assisi (1226-2026) and the Franciscan Year of Grace. The common thread is the indissoluble bond between the Seraphic Father and the Saint of Padua, explored around the theme of "disarmed and disarming peace." All Giugno Antoniano events are free admission until capacity is reached, unless otherwise indicated.
