Sguardi is the film and theatre review promoted by the Municipality of Padova – Department of Culture, dedicated to local talents. The event takes place in the evocative setting of Villa Breda, in the San Lazzaro district, where the park is transformed into an open-air stage for some summer evenings.
A showcase for local creativity
The programme alternates theatre performances, screenings of short films and documentaries by local directors, evenings dedicated to cinema and new technologies, and moments reserved for emerging theatre. The evenings are organised by theme — from the roots of Paduan creativity to views of the future, from local theatre to young talents — celebrating artists and authors from the area.

With the support of entities related to film training, Sguardi celebrates the talent of Padova and the Veneto region, offering the public free outdoor evenings and an opportunity to discover the vibrancy of the local cultural scene.
Sguardi — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Sguardi enlivens the park of Villa Breda, in Padova, during the month of June, with the usual programme of evenings dedicated to cinema and theatre featuring talents from the Paduan and Venetian territory.
The evenings, held outdoors and mostly with free admission, are organised by theme: from the roots and visions of Paduan creativity to views of the future between cinema and new technologies, from local theatre ("Voci e maschere" - Voices and Masks) to emerging young talents and outdoor screenings with short films and documentaries by local directors. The detailed programme for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Municipality of Padova in the weeks prior.
