The great festival of June 13th at the Basilica del Santo
The Solemnity of Saint Anthony, on June 13th, is the festival of the patron saint of Padua and one of the most heartfelt religious anniversaries in Italy. The heart of the celebrations is the Basilica del Santo, a destination every year for tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world, devoted to the one that popular tradition calls the "Saint of miracles".
On June 13th, the Basilica remains open from early morning until late evening, with a succession of masses and celebrations. The culminating moments are the Pontifical Mass and the solemn afternoon Mass, at the end of which the procession with the statue and the sacred relics of the Saint takes place, crossing the streets of the center of Padua.
The festival is preceded by the Tredicina, the thirteen days of preparation that mark the approach to the Solemnity. All of this is part of the broader Antonian June, full of religious and cultural initiatives. An event that renews every year the deep bond between Padua, in Veneto, and its Saint.
The 2026 edition of the Solemnity of Saint Anthony will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13th at the Basilica del Santo in Padua, open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The day is marked by numerous masses, at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11:30 AM, 1 PM, 3:30 PM, 5 PM, 7 PM, and 9 PM.
The culminating moments are the 11:30 AM Pontifical Mass, presided over by the Bishop of Padua, Claudio Cipolla, and the 5 PM Solemn Mass, presided over by Father Roberto Brandinelli, Provincial Minister of the Conventual Franciscans, at the end of which the procession with the statue and the sacred relics of the Saint takes place through the streets of Padua. The Tredicina of preparation runs from May 31st to June 12th.
