Live music evenings in the historic center of Forio d'Ischia
The Giovedì Foriani have become a staple of the summer in Forio, one of the most vibrant towns on the island of Ischia, in the Province of Naples and the Campania region. Every Thursday evening, from July to September, the historic center transforms into a large open-air stage: alleys, small squares, and shopping streets fill with music, voices, and leisurely strolls, while local businesses remain open until late at night.
The simple and successful formula features five musical stages distributed throughout the historic center. From 8 PM until midnight, every corner becomes an opportunity to listen: from one square to the next, you can encounter everything from street bands to singer-songwriters, and light music to more engaging rhythms, in a journey that invites you to discover the town on foot. Some of the most followed and talented island artists take turns on stage, starring in a series that highlights the musical energy of the area.
The charm of the Giovedì Foriani lies in the atmosphere: the shadow of the Torrione, the churches, and the ancient portals of Forio provide the backdrop for an evening designed for families, young people, and visitors. Between one note and the next, you will find ice cream parlors, artisan shops, and restaurants, and the evening naturally extends into an aperitif or an outdoor dinner. It is the best way to breathe in the authentic soul of this seaside village on the Green Island.
The Giovedì Foriani are one of the highlights of the summer program curated by the Municipality of Forio, which for 2026 has published a calendar of over twenty events between June and September well in advance, including festivals, musical evenings, and traditional fairs. The event is organized with the Magnosa Cultural Association in collaboration with the municipal administration, confirming a format that over the years has become one of the most beloved and successful formulas of the Ischian summer.
Whether you are on vacation on the island or a resident looking for a different kind of evening, the Giovedì Foriani are the perfect invitation to experience Forio after sunset, when the historic center lights up with music and Campania shows its true talent for hospitality.
