The noir and crime fiction festival set in the Langhe
Giallo Roddino is a literary festival dedicated to noir and crime novels set in the Langhe, conceived and hosted by the Bottega di via Roma 5, in the small town of Roddino, in the province of Cuneo. Born from the collaboration between the local shop, the cultural association APS BookPostino, and supported by the Municipality of Roddino, the festival transforms a village of just a few hundred inhabitants into a meeting point for noir literature enthusiasts.
The common thread is clear: every book presented is set among the hills of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape that becomes not just a backdrop, but a true protagonist of the stories. Vineyards, hazelnut groves, perched villages, and autumnal atmospheres set the scene for crimes, mysteries, and investigations, in a blend of the great Italian crime tradition and the identity of the Langhe.
The festival brings together writers, journalists, and storytellers connected to Piedmont and the crime genre. Guests who have enlivened the meetings include well-known names in Langhe noir, authors of novels published by houses such as Golem Edizioni, Rizzoli, and Edizioni del Capricorno. Alongside book presentations, the festival also offers in-depth sessions, such as masterclasses dedicated to novel-writing techniques.
Each evening takes place at the Bottega di Roddino, an informal and welcoming venue that is the true beating heart of the initiative. The meetings are free to attend, and at the end of the presentation, those who wish can stay for dinner by reservation, sharing a table with authors and other readers. This is the formula that makes Giallo Roddino a special event: literature does not remain confined to the pages, but becomes an opportunity for meeting, dialogue, and discovering the gastronomy of the Langhe.
For a small town like Roddino, nestled among the hills of the Alta Langa, hosting a literary festival is a sign of cultural vitality that enhances the territory and attracts visitors even in the quieter months of the year. Giallo Roddino confirms how even the villages of the Cuneo province can create quality cultural proposals capable of intertwining books, landscape, and traditions.
The first edition of Giallo Roddino took place throughout the winter of 2025-2026, with four events hosted at the Bottega di via Roma in Roddino. The festival brought together authors of noir and crime fiction set in the Langhe, alternating book presentations with in-depth sessions on writing. Each evening, free to attend, concluded with the possibility of a convivial dinner by reservation, in the spirit of uniting literature and Langhe gastronomy.
All evenings took place at the Bottega di Roddino (via Roma 5), with free admission and dinner by reservation at +39 339 4463850.
