The Maremma capital becomes the hub for mystery, thriller and noir literature
Giallo Grosseto is the literary festival that, for three days, turns the capital of the Tuscan Maremma into the Italian reference point for fans of mystery, thriller and noir. Organized by Pro Loco Grosseto with the patronage of the Municipality of Grosseto – Department of Culture and the support of the Biblioteca Comunale Chelliana, the event brings together writers, actors, journalists and readers in a packed calendar of meetings spread across the city's most evocative locations.
The second edition, scheduled from May 28 to 30, 2026, is dedicated to Andrea Camilleri on the centenary of his birth, the father of Inspector Montalbano and an undisputed master of Italian crime fiction. Under the artistic direction of Carlo Legaluppi, the festival offers book presentations, round tables, writing workshops, themed recreational activities, tastings of typical Maremma products and theatrical performances.
The protagonists of the Grosseto days include well-known names in Italian mystery and noir: Gaetano Savatteri, Valerio Varesi, Marco Vichi, Gabriella Genisi, Valeria Corciolani, François Morlupi, as well as actors Ninni Bruschetta and Peppino Mazzotta, and critics and experts like Luca Crovi.
