A festival with its feet in the sand

Ghe Pensi Mar is a summer event that brings culture and entertainment directly to the beach of Marina Romea, one of the seaside resorts on the Northern Lidi of the Municipality of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna. The setting is Bagno Polka, on Viale Italia, where a stage overlooking the Adriatic Sea hosts a succession of free talks, concerts, and comedy events for five days.

Origins: When Milan Meets the Sea

The festival was born in 2022 from the encounter between two seemingly distant realities: Bagno Polka in Marina Romea and GhePensiMi, a cult venue in Milan's NoLo district, a hotbed of new comedy and original live formats. As the organizers like to say, the idea is simple: "GhePensiMi does many great things, but it doesn't have the sea. Bagno Polka does many great things and also has the sea." This synergy gave birth to one of the most original festivals on the Romagna Riviera.

An Eclectic and Multidisciplinary Program

The distinctive feature of Ghe Pensi Mar is its transversal programming, which mixes genres and languages without boundaries. Over twenty events feature a lineup including:

• Stand-up comedy and new Italian comedy
• Book presentations and meetings with authors
• Concerts and DJ sets under the stars
• Talks on science, sports, television, radio, and comics
• Sports activities and participatory beach events

Over the years, the Marina Romea stage has hosted protagonists of the Italian cultural and entertainment scene, from stand-up comedy to big names in independent music, in a light and informal atmosphere typical of the Romagna summer.

Ghe Pensi Mar has carved out a special place in the Emilia-Romagna summer calendar: not a classic beach event, but a festival capable of bringing quality content to a relaxed and accessible setting for everyone. Free entry and the "feet in the sand" formula make it a perfect opportunity to combine a day at the beach with evenings of culture and fun, just a few kilometers from the historic center of Ravenna and its famous Byzantine mosaics.
