Every spring, the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo lights up for the world's youngest talents with the GEF – Global Education Festival and the sanremoJunior World Finals. On one hand, the grand finale of the international singing competition for children aged 6 to 15, accompanied by a live orchestra; on the other, the school review that pits schools and associations against each other in music, musical theatre, dance, gymnastics, fashion, and theatre. An event that combines education, entertainment, and international collaboration.

The GEF – Global Education Festival and the sanremoJunior World Finals bring the youngest talents from all over the world to the stage of the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo (province of Imperia). Two distinct but connected events, united by the idea of education through art and an international dimension.

sanremoJunior World Finals

The sanremoJunior World Finals are the world final of the international singing competition dedicated to children aged 6 to 15. The finalists, selected from thousands of applications from every continent, perform accompanied by the Sanremo Junior Orchestra, with a jury of music professionals.

GEF – Global Education Festival

The GEF is the review that pits schools and associations from all over the world against each other in numerous categories: music, musical theatre, dance, gymnastics, fashion, and theatre. It is a major educational project that, through art, promotes international collaboration and the values of peace, giving space to the creativity of the youngest on the most famous stage in Italian music.

GEF and sanremoJunior — edition 2026

From April 14 to 17, 2026, the Ariston Theatre hosts the sanremoJunior World Finals (17th edition) and the GEF Global Education Festival (27th edition). On April 14, the world final with 24 young singers aged 6 to 15 accompanied by the Sanremo Junior Orchestra (32 musicians); from April 15 to 16, the GEF finals in the categories of music, musical theatre, dance, gymnastics, fashion, and theatre; on April 17, the awards ceremony. The 2026 edition brings together the sanremoJunior World Finals (17th edition) and the GEF Global Education Festival (27th edition) at the Ariston, from April 14 to 17.

On April 14, the sanremoJunior world final takes place with 24 young singers aged 6 to 15, from countries such as Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, Thailand, and the USA, accompanied by the Sanremo Junior Orchestra (32 musicians) conducted by Alessandro Scaglione. The jury is chaired by Franco Fasano. From April 15 to 16, the GEF finals in the various categories; on April 17, the awards ceremony.

Tuesday, April 14 — sanremoJunior World Finals

  • World final with 24 young singers (6-15 years old) from around the world;
  • Accompaniment by the Sanremo Junior Orchestra (32 musicians), dir. Alessandro Scaglione;
  • Jury chaired by Franco Fasano; special award to Niko Cutugno in memory of Toto Cutugno.

Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16 — GEF

  • Finals of schools and associations in the categories music, musical theatre, dance, gymnastics, fashion, and theatre;
  • Parade in the city center on Friday afternoon.

Friday, April 17

  • Awards ceremony.
