Garage Sonà XXL

The festival that lights up the summer in Dro

Garage Sonà XXL is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in the Municipality of Dro, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. Organized by the Sonà Cultural Music Association, the festival transforms the parking lot and park of the former Town Hall, at Via Cesare Battisti 11, into a large open-air stage. Since 2015, the association has opened the doors of its headquarters for two nights of free concerts dedicated to rock, punk, stoner, and all alternative sounds.

A raw and unfiltered live music scene

Garage Sonà XXL is designed as a showcase for emerging bands from the Trentino region and beyond, joined each year by big names who bring established experience from the Italian and international rock scene to the Dro stage. The program mixes local groups, bands from all over the country, and headliners capable of attracting audiences from outside the region, in an informal and engaging atmosphere that is the hallmark of the Sonà Association.

Music, social life, and youth engagement

In addition to the concerts, the festival offers a food area and the iconic Guerilla bar, the heart of the evening's social life. Garage Sonà XXL is more than just music: it is a cultural project that aims to build connections and empower local youth. In recent years, the organization has collaborated with the Alto Garda and Ledro Youth Plan to directly involve young people in the creation of the event.

The context: The Sonà Association and Guerilla Live

Founded in Dro in the late nineties as a manager of rehearsal rooms for its members, the Sonà Association moved through various locations before settling into the spaces of the former Town Hall. Garage Sonà XXL represents the highlight of the summer season, which continues with the Guerilla Live series: a set of semi-acoustic independent music nights that liven up the Fridays of July and August in the park of Dro.
