A night of music, entertainment, and culture in the jewel village of the Madonie
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Gangi White Night is the signature event of the summer in this Madonie village: for an entire night, the streets and squares of the historic center turn into the stage for a grand popular festival, featuring a non-stop sequence of concerts, shows, artistic performances, and cultural initiatives that continue until the first light of dawn. Promoted by the municipal administration with the support of the Pro Loco, the event is now a fixed appointment on the Gangi summer calendar, reaching far beyond the town's borders and attracting visitors from all over Sicily.
Gangi, in the province of Palermo, rises to over a thousand meters in altitude in the Madonie mountains and is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, having been awarded the title of Borgo dei Borghi in 2014. Its maze of stone alleys, stairways, and noble palaces becomes a natural backdrop during the White Night: every small square hosts a different stage or attraction, from live music and accordion-led ballroom dancing to tribute bands and late-night DJ sets.
The program blends different genres and audiences: pop and rock concerts, tributes to great Italian artists, entertainment for children with inflatables, mascots, and cotton candy, as well as spaces dedicated to dance and folk songs. There is no shortage of street food spread throughout the center and artistic lighting that enhances the views and monuments. During the evening, the village's cultural sites remain open, such as the Chiesa della Badia, Palazzo Bongiorno, and the Palazzo Sgadari museum, combining the festivities with the discovery of local heritage.
To facilitate the influx of visitors, the Municipality operates a free shuttle service between the lower part of the town and the historic center, active for the entire duration of the event. The festival traditionally concludes at dawn with a massive 'spaghettata' organized by the Pro Loco, a convivial moment that wraps up the long night of celebration.
The White Night is part of a particularly rich Gangi summer, alongside other events such as the Sagra della Spiga, Enjoy Jazz, and the Cover Fest, which make Gangi one of the key cultural destinations in the Sicilian hinterland.
The Gangi White Night 2026 is part of the summer events in the Madonie village: the Metropolitan City of Palermo has allocated a grant for the event as part of the funding for the 2026 summer cultural offerings. At the moment, the Municipality has not yet made public the dates and the detailed program for the 2026 edition.
Traditionally, the White Night takes place in mid-August and enlivens the historic center with concerts, DJ sets, children's entertainment, street food, and visits to cultural sites until dawn, with a free shuttle service. The program will be communicated by the municipal administration and the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the event.
Gangi can be reached by car from the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway (Tre Monzelli or Irosa exit), continuing along the internal roads of the Madonie; it is about 120 km from Palermo. The reference railway station is connected by bus services.
During the event, a free shuttle service is active between the lower part of the town and the historic center, where the festival takes place.
Access to the event is free. Street food points are available along the streets.
