About Fuoco al Centro

Fuoco al Centro is the festival of literature, music, and visions that lights up the village of Agnone at the beginning of May. Conceived and directed by writer Chiara Gamberale and produced by the writing school CreaVità in collaboration with the Municipality, it brings to Alto Molise finalists of the Strega Prize, journalists, actors, and musicians for three days of literary encounters, concerts, and workshops, held between the San Marco Belvedere and the Italo Argentino Theatre.

Culture at the heart of Alto Molise

Fuoco al Centro is the festival of literature, music, and visions in Agnone, in the province of Isernia. Conceived and directed by writer Chiara Gamberale and produced by the writing school CreaVità together with the Municipality, the festival chooses a village in Alto Molise as its stage for literary dialogues, concerts, and workshops, demonstrating that quality culture can ignite even far from major centers.

Encounters, Music, and Visions

The program alternates book presentations with prominent authors — many finalists or winners of the Strega Prize — with musical interludes and creative workshops for children. The main events take place in the spaces of the San Marco church and the Italo Argentino Theatre, while workshops for children animate the cloister of the Palazzo dei Filippini.

A Young but Already Rooted Festival

Born recently, Fuoco al Centro has become in just a few editions an anticipated event on the Molise cultural calendar, capable of attracting nationally renowned writers, journalists, and actors to Agnone.

Fuoco al Centro — edition 2026

The second edition of Fuoco al Centro was held in Agnone from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, featuring eight prominent guests including writers, journalists, and actors. Literary encounters took place in the spaces of the San Marco church, a tribute concert to Lucio Dalla by Pierdavide Carone was held at the Italo Argentino Theatre, and workshops for children were organized in the cloister of the Palazzo dei Filippini.

The second edition of Fuoco al Centro animated Agnone from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, confirming the formula that intertwines literature, music, and workshops. Among the guests were finalists and winners of the Strega Prize, a television journalist and presenter, and a nationally renowned actress. The heart of the events were the outdoor and indoor spaces of the San Marco church, with an opening on May 1st at 6:00 PM and closing on May 3rd at 11:00 AM.
