The great festival of Piedmontese fruit growing in Lagnasco
Every year at the end of March, the small town of Lagnasco, in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont), dresses up for Fruttinfiore, the National Fruit Growing Exhibition and Market. This is no ordinary festival: we are in the heart of one of Italy's most important fruit-growing areas, the Saluzzo plains, where peaches, apples, kiwis, and berries define the local life and economy. For three days, the historic center and exhibition spaces are filled with colors, scents, and a crowd exceeding 40,000 attendees.
The technical core of the event is the S.T.A.O. – Exhibition of Technologies Applied to Fruit Growing, a showcase of machinery, equipment, and innovations for industry professionals. Surrounding this hub is a popular festival open to everyone, featuring a large fruit, flower, and local produce market alongside numerous food and wine offerings.
Fruttinfiore is organized by the Pro Loco of Lagnasco in collaboration with the municipal administration and the main agricultural entities of the Cuneo province, such as AOP Piemonte, Lagnasco Group, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, and Agrion. It is an event that combines the promotion of the Piedmontese fruit sector with the discovery of a village rich in history, perfect for a spring trip between the Maritime Alps and the Cuneo plains.
The 24th edition of Fruttinfiore confirmed Lagnasco as the Piedmontese capital of fruit growing, with over 40,000 visitors expected. Alongside the S.T.A.O. and the large market, the 2026 edition brought the Italian Pro Loco Village to the town, offering a rich program of show cooking, performances, castle tours, and family activities.
The event was also covered by Fruttinfiore...Live on TCP Teleupole.
Lagnasco is located in the province of Cuneo, along the road between Savigliano and Saluzzo. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Marene exit), continuing towards Savigliano and Saluzzo. The nearest train station is Savigliano, on the Turin-Cuneo line, from where you can continue by bus or car.
The event takes place over three days at the end of March, with the inauguration on Friday afternoon. Access to the exhibition area and the market is free; some activities (castle tours, guided tastings) may require a separate ticket.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking between the stands and orchards, and take advantage of the day to visit the Castles of Lagnasco. The Fruttintavola area is the perfect place to enjoy lunch with local products.
