The race in the heart of Udine between sport, solidarity and workplace safety
The Friuli Doc Run – Memorial Lorenzo Parelli is a sporting event that brings running into the streets and squares of Udine's historic center, on a highly evocative city circuit. The event combines competitiveness, solidarity, and attention to workplace safety, and is dedicated to the memory of Lorenzo Parelli, the young student who died during a school-work alternation internship.
The program is designed to involve athletes, amateurs, and families. On a 1.1 km course certified by FIDAL, to be repeated several times depending on the distance, five races are held: the Children's Race, the 3 km non-competitive Family Run, the 5.5 km non-competitive race, the 5.5 km masters competitive race, and the 10 km elite. A range of options that allows anyone to participate, from children to the most trained runners.
The Friuli Doc Run is not just a race: it is an opportunity to reflect on the issue of workplace safety, through the testimonies of those who have experienced serious accidents firsthand and have managed to react. The event enjoys the support of INAIL, the regional athletics federation, and the University of Udine, and fits into the festive atmosphere that the city experiences during the Friuli Doc period.
Running through the illuminated squares of Udine, at sunset and in the evening, is an experience that unites thousands of people in the name of sport and memory. For running enthusiasts and for families who want to experience the city in motion, the Friuli Doc Run is an event full of emotion and meaning.
