About Frinco Carnival

The Frinco Carnival is the annual celebration organized by the local Pro Loco in the small village of Frinco, in the heart of the Asti Monferrato region. It is a simple, genuine village day dedicated to fun for all ages: the entire community gathers at the San Firmino sports field to share traditional polenta, play games, and spend an afternoon of festivities together. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the hospitality of an authentic Piedmontese village, far from the main tourist trails.

A Carnival in an Asti Monferrato village

The Frinco Carnival is one of the most cherished events for the community of Frinco, a small municipality in the Province of Asti nestled among the hills of Monferrato, just a few kilometers from the provincial capital. Far from the grand parades of allegorical floats found in larger cities, the Carnival here retains all the charm of a traditional village festival: no pomp, just authenticity, conviviality, and a shared desire to be together.

A celebration in the San Firmino area

The heart of the day is the San Firmino sports field, where the Pro Loco of Frinco welcomes residents and visitors for an afternoon of fun. The program revolves around three simple, essential ingredients: games, polenta, and cheer. Steaming polenta, prepared according to Piedmontese peasant tradition, is the common thread that brings families, children, and friends together around the table.

A community coming together

More than just a show, the Frinco Carnival is a moment of community life. The Pro Loco, the true soul of the village's initiatives, often takes the opportunity of this festive day to hold its own association meetings, confirming how deeply rooted the event is in the life of the village. It is the same association that, throughout the year, brings to life the August patronal feast and local gastronomic specialties, from agnolotto alla frinchese to traditional Monferrato cuisine.

Why attend

  • Experience an authentic, small-scale Carnival, far from mass tourism.
  • Taste the polenta prepared by the Pro Loco according to Piedmontese tradition.
  • Enjoy games designed for both adults and children.
  • Discover Frinco, a Monferrato village dominated by its historic castle.

For a weekend in February, Frinco becomes a small corner of celebration where you can rediscover the genuine pleasure of Piedmontese conviviality.
