The extreme music festival in Abruzzo

Frantic Fest is one of the most anticipated events in the Italian metal and underground scene. Every summer, in mid-August, the Tikitaka Village in Francavilla al Mare, on the Adriatic coast in the province of Chieti, becomes an international gathering point for extreme music fans. Metal, black metal, death metal, doom, grindcore, hardcore punk, and experimental acts perform on a stage overlooking the sea, in an open-air format that combines the scale of major European festivals with the authentic spirit of underground gigs.

Origins and growth

The festival was born in 2017 from the vision of artistic director Davide Straccione and the team at Tikitaka Village, following several editions of metal nights and the "Delfino Borchiato Festival" pre-event. Since then, Frantic Fest has grown year after year, becoming a national benchmark for extreme metal and attracting top-tier international names. The festival is supported by industry partners such as Metal Hammer, a historic publication in the music press.

An open-air event on the Adriatic coast

Frantic Fest follows the open-air formula: concerts from the afternoon until late at night, a camping area for those who want to experience the festival without interruption, merchandising stands, food and drink options, and the chance to alternate live music with a swim in the Adriatic. Francavilla al Mare, a seaside town just a few kilometers from Pescara, offers beaches, a promenade, and tourist amenities that make the festival a perfect vacation opportunity. The event attracts an audience from all over Italy and several European countries, fostering a sense of community that is an integral part of the Frantic identity.
