Three days of music, art, and entertainment in Civitavecchia
The Forte! Festival is a music and arts event that lights up Civitavecchia, a port city in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio, every spring. Originally launched as a series of free concerts, it has evolved over the years into a multidisciplinary festival, bringing together diverse genres and audiences in a festive, community-driven atmosphere. The 2026 edition, the seventh, marks a significant step forward: the event moves beyond a simple concert series to become a broader, more structured project, turning the festival venue into a true cultural village.
The heart of the 2026 edition is the Savoy on Via Isonzo, where the festival features both indoor and outdoor stages, art exhibitions throughout the premises, a merchandising area, and food stalls. The space is designed to engage the public from the afternoon until late at night, with a program alternating between concerts, meet-ups, workshops, DJ sets, theater, and stand-up comedy. Alongside the music, visual arts take center stage, with exhibitions that interact with the performances, making the festival a multi-dimensional experience.
The Forte! Festival has made variety its hallmark: the stage hosts a mix of singer-songwriters, rock, jazz, psychedelic and experimental sounds, brass bands, and choral ensembles. Past projects that have energized the event include the Banda Giacomo Puccini, the Kinky Ensemble, and numerous local bands and singer-songwriters, many of whom are young and emerging artists. The festival provides a significant platform for the local scene and new talent, pairing them with renowned guests to serve as a showcase for the creativity of the Roman coast.
One of the features that makes the Forte! Festival a community favorite is the completely free admission to all events. The festival is organized by the Associazione Culturale FORTE! Festival, with the support of the Municipality of Civitavecchia and local cultural organizations. The goal is to offer accessible culture, revitalize city spaces, and create a gathering point that attracts visitors from across the province and the rest of Lazio.
Held in late May, the Forte! Festival coincides with the arrival of the beautiful season on the Lazio coast. Civitavecchia, famous for its port and the Forte Michelangelo, offers visitors a charming setting between the sea and the historic center, easily accessible from Rome. The festival thus becomes an opportunity to discover the city, combining local exploration with the pleasure of three days dedicated to music and art.
The seventh edition of the Forte! Festival brought three days of music, art, and entertainment to Civitavecchia from May 22 to 24, 2026, based at the Savoy on Via Isonzo. The event expanded its format, transforming into a true cultural village with indoor and outdoor stages, art exhibitions, a merchandising area, and food stalls, keeping the public engaged from the afternoon until late at night.
The official opening was held on Friday, May 22, at 5:00 PM at the Cittadella della Musica, with main activities moving to the Savoy from 6:00 PM onwards for the duration of the event.
Three days of multidisciplinary programming with free admission: concerts, indoor and outdoor art exhibitions, workshops, theater, stand-up comedy, DJ sets, and community meet-ups, distributed between the Savoy's indoor and outdoor stages.
Featured projects and ensembles included the Banda Giacomo Puccini, the duo Agnese + Luup, Floating Weeds Music, DavideEGolia, Cromosauri, the Kinky Ensemble, and numerous local artists, with a significant spotlight on the emerging scene and new musical proposals.
Civitavecchia is well-connected to Rome: by train with frequent regional and Intercity services to Civitavecchia station, or by car via the A12 Rome-Civitavecchia motorway. The Savoy, the venue for the 2026 edition, is located on Via Isonzo, a short distance from the city center and the train station.
Admission to all festival events is free.
The program runs from the afternoon until late at night: we recommend arriving early to enjoy the exhibitions, workshops, and concerts. For updated schedules and details, please check the official website and the festival's social media channels.
