Carignano's springtime celebration of flowers, fine wines, and local flavors
When May brings its fragrant blooms, Carignano—a town in the plains south of Turin, in Piedmont—transforms into a vast, open-air garden for Flowers & Wines. This floral and gastronomic market attracts enthusiasts of gardening, fine dining, and culture from across the Metropolitan City of Turin. It is one of the most cherished events in the spring calendar for the Chieri-Carmagnola area, blending local nursery traditions with a rich program of events.
The heart of the event is the Via Monte di Pietà Municipal Park, where nurserymen, artisans, and food producers set up their stands featuring ornamental plants, flowers, handmade creations, and culinary specialties. In Piazza Liberazione, the Food Village comes to life with gourmet street food, wine stands, and music. The event extends into the surrounding historic streets, with a market on Via Salotto and wine tastings hosted at Villa Bona.
Flowers & Wines is more than just a plant market: throughout the three days, the schedule features guided wine tastings, local food samplings, show cooking, art exhibitions, book presentations, author meet-and-greets, live music, DJ sets, and entertainment for children. Numerous initiatives revolve around the Chieri-Carmagnola Food District, which highlights the gastronomic excellence of this part of the Piedmontese plains.
Now in its third decade, Flowers & Wines is a well-established event organized by the Municipality of Carignano with the patronage of the Regional Council of Piedmont and the Metropolitan City of Turin. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the identity of Carignano and its territory through the colors, scents, and flavors that herald the arrival of the beautiful season.
