FloraCult is the nursery, gardening, and sustainability exhibition that brings I Casali del Pino to life every spring. This agricultural estate is nestled within the Veio Park, in the La Storta district, north of Rome. Located in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, it sits in the green heart of the Lazio region. Conceived by Antonella Fornai and hosted by Ilaria Venturini Fendi, the event has built a distinct identity over the years: it is not just a plant fair, but a place where greenery becomes an opportunity for knowledge, connection, and cultural reflection.
Over 170 exhibitors: nurseries, furnishings, and craftsmanship
The commercial heart of the event is its selection of exhibitors, curated with near-museum-level attention. Across the meadows and beneath the oaks of the Casali, the stalls of the most renowned Italian nurserymen are lined up, featuring collections of unusual plants, antique roses, citrus trees, Mediterranean essences, succulents, and fruit trees rarely found in standard commercial circuits. Alongside them, you will find:
- garden furniture, vintage items, and upcycled pieces;
- craftsmanship and artistic trades related to greenery: ceramics, ironwork, wicker, and natural textiles;
- specialized publishing on botany, landscape, and the environment;
- tools, seeds, soils, and products for sustainable gardening;
- a well-stocked food area with local producers and outdoor dining.
The audience is not limited to collectors: in recent years, FloraCult has become a meeting platform for landscape professionals, families, and a growing number of young people interested in environmental issues.
Science, art, and the environment: the cultural program
What sets FloraCult apart from other market exhibitions is its dense calendar of meetings with scholars, science communicators, and artists. Over the years, climatologists, entomologists, neuroscientists, botanists, and science journalists have taken the stage to discuss climate, biodiversity, urban reforestation, and the relationship between plants and humans. Artistic installations scattered throughout the estate complete the experience, alongside screenings, photography exhibitions, and themed rooms set up in the rural buildings.
Workshops and experiences for everyone
A day at FloraCult is also shaped by its workshops, which are almost always open to participation or available by on-site registration: terrarium and kokedama making, wicker weaving, clay modeling, botanical illustration, seed bombing, beekeeping, and pollination. For children, there are educational trails and animal-contact activities, while the estate's open spaces host meditation sessions, archery, horseback riding, and agility trials for dogs. The format is designed for spending the entire day outdoors, with the option to have lunch on-site.
A place worth the journey
I Casali del Pino is a charming organic farm with tuff stone buildings, rows of crops, vegetable gardens, and vast green spaces overlooking the Roman countryside. The setting of the Veio Park, a protected area just a few kilometers from the Grande Raccordo Anulare, offers the feeling of being far away from the city while still within the municipal territory of Rome. This very contrast—the metropolis behind and the countryside ahead—is one of the reasons for the event's success, confirming it as one of the most anticipated spring appointments in the Lazio region dedicated to greenery.
When to go
FloraCult is traditionally held at the end of April, spanning the April 25th holiday bridge, with doors open from 10:00 AM until sunset. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning to enjoy the nurseries calmly and not miss the meetings, which typically take place between 10:30 AM and the late afternoon.
FloraCult — edition 2026
FloraCult 2026: fifteen editions of "Nature is Culture"
The 2026 edition, the fifteenth, was held from Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26 at I Casali del Pino in Rome, daily from 10:00 AM to sunset. The guiding theme, summarized in the motto Nature is Culture, pushed the event even more decisively toward a dialogue between science and the environment, presented by the organizers as a true cultural and civil manifesto.
Over 170 exhibitors enlivened the estate with collections of rare plants, vintage furnishings, artisanal creativity, and sustainable gardening products. Alongside the market, a program of daily meetings, permanent art installations, and a rich calendar of workshops accompanied the public throughout the day.

Friday, April 24
- 10:30 AM — Green Rome: participatory urban reforestation, with Rome Capital councilors Alessandro Onorato and Sabrina Alfonsi and Lorenzo Cioce from the Daje de Alberi association; moderated by journalist Luca Fraioli.
- 12:00 PM — Becoming Human: neuroscientist Vittorio Gallese and cognitive science scholar Ugo Morelli present their book on the relational and creative nature of human beings.
- 4:00 PM — Arte Sella: Giacomo Bianchi, president of Arte Sella, recounts forty years of dialogue between art and nature.
Saturday, April 25
- 10:30 AM — Insects in Company: entomologist Gianumberto Accinelli and science journalist Silvia Bencivelli discuss the behaviors and survival strategies of insects.
- 12:00 PM — Renaissance Citrus Fruits, from Tuscany to Vignanello: presentation of volumes by Alberto Tintori and Claudia Ruspoli on historical citrus fruits and castle gardens, with Elisabetta Margheriti.
- 4:00 PM — Plants, Us and Them: Paola Bonfante, professor emeritus at the University of Turin, dialogues with science communicator Caterina Visco on science, myth, and literature.
Sunday, April 26
- 10:30 AM — The Climate Crisis: Understanding it to Face it: climatologist Luca Mercalli, via video link, dialogues with Silvia Bencivelli on global warming, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
- 5:00 PM — CMC Jam Session: meditation and live music session by the Conscious Music Circle with Tormento and Shorty.

- Renault Twingo E-Tech floral installation in the Multipurpose Hall.
- Danmala, botanical mandala by Stella Marina Gallas, supporting reforestation projects.
- Roots to the Sky, immersive upside-down forest by Gianfranco Basso.
- Cinema Hall featuring the short films Green Porno by Isabella Rossellini dedicated to insect biology.
- Jurassic Store: biodiversity room with live insects.
- Intesa Sanpaolo robotics lab with the robot Pepper.

Workshops and activities
- Naturalistic workshops: beekeeping and pollination, seed bomb, wicker weaving, clay modeling, natural nail art, terrarium construction, kokedama, botanical illustration.
- Outdoor activities: archery with CUS Roma, virtual reality paragliding and hang gliding experiences with Prodelta, horseback riding with Veio Quarter Horses, agility courses for dogs with Io e Te.
- Meditation sessions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, lasting approximately 20-25 minutes.
- Children's activities by the Piano dell'Abatino Wildlife Park, free and without time limits.

How to get there
By train: FL3 line Rome Ostiense-Viterbo, get off at Rome La Storta station; a free shuttle service to the event is available from the station. By car: from the Grande Raccordo Anulare, take the Via Cassia heading north until you reach La Storta; ample free parking is available.

Open daily from 10:00 AM until sunset. Full price ticket 13 euros, reduced price 10 euros, three-day pass 29 euros; "Come by train and pay half" promotion at 6.50 euros.
