The festival of words and music in Rome's Municipio IX
A Viva Voce! Festival of Words and Music is a cultural series bringing live performances to the neighborhoods of Rome's Municipio IX, in the area between EUR and Laurentino. Conceived and promoted by the social enterprise Q Academy, the festival aims to bring citizens closer to culture through a simple and direct language, consisting of spoken words, readings, music, and storytelling.
As the title suggests, the heart of the event is the encounter between words and music: literary and poetic readings, meetings with authors, storytelling shows, and singer-songwriter concerts alternate in a multidisciplinary program designed for a broad and diverse audience. It is a festival that combines listening and participation, where text and sound dialogue on the same stage.
A Viva Voce! is among the projects selected by the «Roma Creativa 365. Culture all year round» public call, the biennial initiative through which Roma Capitale, via the Department of Culture and managed by Zètema Progetto Cultura, supports widespread cultural programming in the city. Included in Section 1, «Rome all year round», dedicated to live performance, the festival helps bring events and meeting opportunities to the capital's more peripheral neighborhoods.
Municipio IX, including EUR and Laurentino, is a vast and transforming area where the demand for cultural spaces and social opportunities is strong. A Viva Voce! responds to this need by proposing a calendar distributed throughout the year, accompanying residents beyond just the summer season. The event thus fits into the broader cultural landscape of Rome and the Lazio Region, valuing the suburbs as a place for artistic production and enjoyment.
More than just a simple event schedule, A Viva Voce! serves as a tool for collective growth: the choice of a social enterprise like Q Academy and the public support of Roma Capitale make it an initiative focused on inclusion and participation. An opportunity to rediscover the pleasure of the spoken word and shared music, at the top of one's voice.
For 2026, A Viva Voce! Festival of Words and Music returns to Rome's Municipio IX with programming spread throughout the year, made possible by the support of Roma Capitale through the «Roma Creativa 365» call. The edition confirms the formula that intertwines words and music: readings, storytelling, meetings, and live concerts designed for the public of EUR, Laurentino, and the surrounding neighborhoods.
The complete program, including dates, locations, and guests for individual events, will be published by the organizer Q Academy Impresa Sociale. The event confirms its status as a reference point for local culture in the capital's suburbs and within the Lazio Region's landscape.
The festival is held in Municipio IX in Rome, in the area between EUR and Laurentino (ZIP code 00144), in various locations across the territory. The venues for individual appointments are communicated by the organizers close to each event.
The EUR area is served by Metro Line B (EUR Magliana, EUR Palasport, EUR Fermi stations) and numerous bus lines. By car, it can be reached via Via Cristoforo Colombo and the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA).
The detailed program and participation methods are disseminated by the organizer, Q Academy Impresa Sociale, and through the Roma Creativa 365 channels.
