Abilmente Rome is the capital city stop of the Abilmente circuit, the creative ideas fair organized by the Italian Exhibition Group. Every autumn, the event arrives at the Fiera di Roma, located in the Portuense district of the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region, transforming the halls into a large, immersive workshop where you can touch, try, learn, and shop. It is one of Italy's leading events in the hobby and creative sector, attracting an audience from across Central Italy.

What you will find at the fair

The exhibition path brings together hundreds of companies, artisans, and small creative businesses presenting materials, yarns, fabrics, papers, tools, and kits. The thematic areas cover the major branches of manual creativity:

Courses, workshops, and demonstrations

The heart of Abilmente is not just commercial: a large part of the day is spent at the tables of courses and workshops, led by teachers, designers, and creators. These range from short amigurumi lessons to sewing demonstrations, and from calligraphy trials to decoration workshops. Sessions have limited capacity and in many cases can be booked in advance online or directly at the fair, subject to availability.

A specific space is reserved for families with the Family Lab, an area designed to let adults and children work together on simple, guided manual activities. There are also themed exhibitions, often created with collective knitting and crochet works sent in by enthusiasts from all over Italy.
