About Fiuggi Experience

Fiuggi Experience is the experiential tourism calendar promoted by the Municipality of Fiuggi, in the province of Frosinone: trekking in the Ciociaria woods, e-bike and mountain bike tours towards Lake Canterno, guided tours of the medieval village, and outdoor fitness and wellness activities. All experiences are free of charge and led by qualified guides, upon reservation. The opening weekend of the sixth edition took place from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, with excursions every morning through the historic center, the old railway, and scenic trails.

A widespread festival dedicated to experiential tourism

Fiuggi Experience is not just an event confined to a square: it is a calendar of experiences that opens up the entire territory of the Municipality of Fiuggi, in the heart of Ciociaria, in the province of Frosinone (Lazio). Trekking, cycle tourism, guided tours, and outdoor wellness sessions take place throughout the season with a simple and clear formula, summarized in the motto chosen by the municipal administration: «The territory opens up. For everyone. Free of charge.»

The project was created to showcase a different side of Fiuggi, beyond its famous thermal baths and mineral water. Here, visitors can walk through beech and holly woods, cycle towards the Lake Canterno Nature Reserve, climb to viewpoints overlooking the valley, and then return to the alleys of the medieval village to hear its history from the voice of a guide.

The four souls of the program

  • Trekking: itineraries of varying difficulty in the woods and on historical trails, such as the Holly Trail or the old railway track.
  • Bike tours: e-bike and mountain bike excursions towards neighboring towns and the Lake Canterno Nature Reserve.
  • Guided tours: cultural walks in the medieval village, from the Capuchin Convent to the colorful houses leaning along the alleys.
  • Fitness & wellness: yoga, pilates, nordic walking, and outdoor city workouts, in a city that has made wellness its identity.

The sixth edition and the May 1st weekend

The 2026 edition, the sixth, kicked off the season with a long weekend, from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, designed for those taking advantage of the holiday bridge for a short getaway. Every morning featured a different activity, with meeting points at the Station's Green House or the Piazza Trento e Trieste Info Point: from the Holly Trail trekking to the visit to the Capuchin Convent, from the route along the former railway to the climb towards the Big Bench, up to the thematic tours «Moretti and the 20th Century» and «The Colors of the Village».

However, the calendar does not end in May: programming continues throughout the year, with weekends dedicated even in mid-summer, and is periodically updated on the municipal tourism portal.

How to participate

Participation is free but booking is required: check the calendar on the municipal tourism website and fill out the registration form at least 24 hours before the chosen activity. Confirmation and meeting instructions will be sent via email. The only exception to the free policy is the potential rental of bicycles for bike tours, which remains at the participant's expense.

Who it is for

The project is designed for families, couples, groups of friends, and anyone looking for an active and wellness-oriented holiday. The excursions are accompanied by qualified guides and difficulty levels are varied, so that even those who are not expert hikers can participate. Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities is recommended, with trekking shoes for outings in the woods.

Fiuggi, thermal city of Ciociaria

Already known to Boniface VIII and Michelangelo for the properties of its water, Fiuggi is today one of the most well-known spa towns in Lazio. The historic center, perched and compact, preserves its medieval layout, while the lower part - Fiuggi Fonte - houses the thermal springs and parks from the early 20th century. Fiuggi Experience connects these two faces of the city with the nature that surrounds them, and represents one of the most successful examples of slow tourism in the province of Frosinone.

Fiuggi Experience — edition 2026

The sixth edition of Fiuggi Experience opened the season with the long weekend of May 1st, 2026: three days of free trekking, bike tours, and guided tours between the medieval village of Fiuggi, the old railway, and the scenic trails of Ciociaria. Activities every morning, with qualified guides and mandatory registration at least 24 hours in advance.

Fiuggi Experience 2026

The opening weekend of the sixth edition took place from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, with activities distributed between the morning and early afternoon (roughly from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM). The formula remained the one that made the project recognizable: free experiences, qualified guides, online booking at least 24 hours in advance.

The program alternated between nature outings and cultural visits, allowing those staying for the holiday bridge to compose their own route between the woods, the former railway track, and the historic center. Programming then continued throughout the year, with other weekends of excursions, including July 11th and 12th, 2026.
