The plant and flower market exhibition that welcomes spring in Sesto Fiorentino
There is a specific moment when Sesto Fiorentino knows that winter is truly behind us: when the historic center fills with seasonal plants, flowers, and scents for Fiorinfiera, the nursery market exhibition that has been heralding the arrival of spring in the heart of this town near Florence, Tuscany, for years. It is one of the most beloved events for locals and visitors from the entire Florence metropolitan area looking for the perfect inspiration for their gardens, balconies, and terraces.
The fair takes place along the streets of the natural shopping center, including Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Via Cavallotti, Via Dante Alighieri, and Via Verdi. Nursery exhibitors from across the region bring the latest seasonal trends to the square: ornamental and fruit plants, shrubs, flowers, floral arrangements, as well as gardening equipment and everything needed to care for your green spaces ahead of the new season.
It is not just about greenery. Via Dante Alighieri hosts a market featuring local farms and food products, while Via Cavallotti showcases creations by local hobbyists. In Piazza Vittorio Veneto, thanks to a partnership with CNA Firenze, you can explore ArteFacendo, a market dedicated to the excellence of Florentine artistic craftsmanship.
Fiorinfiera is much more than a market: it is a day to enjoy a stroll, choosing a new plant or tasting a local product, all within a historic center closed to traffic and returned to pedestrians. Nearby, at the Giardino del Bardo, the tulip bloom of the Wonderandpick project provides a natural backdrop for the arrival of spring, offering a spectacular sight for both adults and children.
The event is organized by Periscopio Comunicazione in collaboration with the Municipality of Sesto Fiorentino, the Pro Loco of Sesto, the "Sesto Sotto Casa" association, Confesercenti Firenze, and CNA Firenze. Admission is completely free.
The 2026 edition of Fiorinfiera, the twelfth, was held on March 21 and 22, 2026, in the historic center of Sesto Fiorentino. Along Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Via Cavallotti, Via Dante Alighieri, and Via Verdi, nursery exhibitors from across the region offered plants, flowers, shrubs, and gardening equipment to welcome spring.
Via Dante hosted the market of agricultural companies and food products, Via Cavallotti featured the creations of hobbyists, while in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, CNA Firenze brought the ArteFacendo artistic craft market. At the Giardino del Bardo, the fifth edition of the Wonderandpick project saw 40,000 tulips bloom.
The event took place over two days, Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Fiorinfiera is traditionally held over a weekend in March, with continuous hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.
