Buttrio, the capital of Friulian wines for a weekend

In the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli (Eastern Hills of Friuli), in Buttrio (UD), wine is culture, economy, and identity. Every year, at the beginning of June, the Fiera Regionale dei Vini (Regional Wine Fair) brings together wineries from all over the region in the charming park of Villa di Toppo Florio: it is one of the longest-standing and most prestigious wine events in Friuli Venezia Giulia, dedicated to promoting the territory and its wines.

Over 300 wines and a hundred wineries

The heart of the event is the Enoteca dei Sensi (Wine Bar of the Senses), which offers tastings of over 300 wines from more than 100 wineries in Friuli Venezia Giulia. A journey through the region's great white and red wines, from the Colli Orientali to other denominations, enhanced by the interactive digital service "Buri Smart Wine" that guides visitors according to their sensory preferences.

Buri Vinum Loci and the Preview Showcase

Among the innovations of recent editions is the "Gran Selezione Buri Vinum Loci" (Grand Selection Buri Vinum Loci), a competition dedicated to wines made from indigenous grape varieties of Friuli Venezia Giulia and resistant (PIWI) vines: dry whites and reds, sparkling wines, sweet wines, and macerated wines are evaluated by panels of oenologists and sommeliers, with the winners announced during the opening ceremony. Alongside this, the "Vetrina delle Anteprime" (Preview Showcase) focuses on innovation, indigenous grape varieties, wine tourism, and local culture.

A celebration for everyone, between culture and tradition

The Fair is not just for industry professionals: round tables on the future of the wine sector, the traditional Palio delle Botti (Barrel Race), evening shows, workshops for families, and gastronomic offerings with Friulian cuisine make the event a popular and welcoming occasion. Organized by the Pro Loco Buri (Local Tourism Association) with the support of the Municipality of Buttrio, the Fiera Regionale dei Vini is a valuable opportunity to discover Friulian wine excellence in a historic park of rare beauty.
