In Città di Castello, a city of art in the Province of Perugia overlooking the Upper Tiber Valley, the Fiera di San Bartolomeo is an event with ancient roots, renewed every year on the last weekend of August. The livestock exhibition
The heart of the event is the livestock exhibition, set up at Parco A. Langer, in the Ansa del Tevere: here, breeders from the Upper Tiber Valley bring livestock of various species, in a showcase that tells the story of the area's agricultural economy and values producers and breeders from areas that would otherwise risk abandonment. For children, it is often the first opportunity to see and touch animals up close.
Trade fairs in the historic center
In parallel with the livestock exhibition, trade fairs liven up the streets and squares of the historic center of Città di Castello, among the Renaissance palaces, recreating the atmosphere of yesteryear. The Fiera di San Bartolomeo is thus an opportunity to experience the city in an unusual guise, between peasant tradition, commerce, and a late summer festival in the heart of Umbria.
