The historic fair of Umbertide
The Fiere di Settembre are one of the most deeply rooted events in Umbertide, in the province of Perugia. For three days, from Friday to Sunday, the streets of the historic centre transform into a large open-air market with about 200 commercial operators animating the town's streets.
A stroll through the streets of the centre
The fair's route runs through the heart of Umbertide, winding along Via Unità d'Italia, Piazza Marx, Via Morandi, and Via Tusicum. Among stalls of all kinds — clothing, local products, crafts, and curiosities — the fair has always been an occasion for strolling and celebration for the inhabitants and visitors of the Upper Tiber Valley.
During the patron saint's feast days
The Fiere di Settembre coincide with the feast day of Umbertide's patron saint, the Madonna della Reggia, celebrated on 8 September. The fair thus combines the commercial aspect with the community's religious and civil traditions, in an event that has marked the beginning of autumn in Umbertide for decades.
Fiere di Settembre — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Fiere di Settembre is the 41st and takes place from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 September in Umbertide. The fair, with about 200 commercial operators, runs through the streets of the historic centre — Via Unità d'Italia, Piazza Marx, Via Morandi, and Via Tusicum — in the days preceding the feast day of the patron saint, the Madonna della Reggia, celebrated on 8 September.

How to get there
Umbertide is located in the Upper Tiber Valley, on the SS3bis E45 (Umbertide exit), about 30 km from Perugia. Umbertide railway station is on the Ferrovia Centrale Umbra (Sansepolcro–Perugia–Terni).
