The gastronomic feast of the Quartiere Arco on the road to the Gonfalone di Arpino
The Fettuccine with Porcini Mushrooms and Truffle Festival is one of the most cherished gastronomic events in Arpino, a historic town in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. Organized by the Quartiere Arco, the festival is part of the Gonfalone di Arpino calendar, a grand traditional event that brings the city's districts to life every summer with a series of gatherings dedicated to food, music, and conviviality.
The heart of the evening is the homemade fettuccine, seasoned with porcini mushrooms and truffle, typical products of the mountains surrounding Arpino. Alongside the main course, the Quartiere Arco food stalls offer a menu rich in Ciociaria tradition:
Everything is prepared by neighborhood volunteers, who transform the Piazzale Madonna Addolorata into a large open-air kitchen for the occasion.
The festival is more than just food: the evening is accompanied by folk music, songs, and dances that enliven the square until late. Traditional folk groups from Rome and the Ciociaria region bring songs and rhythms to the stage that invite everyone to dance, creating a genuine neighborhood party atmosphere where families, young people, and visitors gather around long communal tables.
Arpino, the birthplace of Marcus Tullius Cicero and Gaius Marius, is a village rich in history perched among the hills of the Ciociaria. The Quartiere Arco, with its festival, keeps alive a tradition of social connection and popular cuisine that has roots stretching back many decades of neighborhood celebrations. Attending the Fettuccine Festival means discovering an authentic side of the less-touristy Lazio, filled with genuine products, warm hospitality, and local culture.
For 2026, the Fettuccine with Porcini Mushrooms and Truffle Festival of the Quartiere Arco is scheduled for Saturday, August 8 in Arpino, in the usual setting of Piazzale Madonna Addolorata. The evening kicks off early with the opening of the food stalls.
As per tradition, the stars are the homemade fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and truffle, accompanied by other neighborhood culinary specialties and folk music, songs, and dances. The detailed program with the evening's musical guests will be released by the organizers in the days leading up to the event on the Quartiere Arco channels.
The festival is held in the Madonna Addolorata area, on the square of the same name in Arpino (FR), along the Gonfalone route.
By car: Arpino can be reached via the A1 motorway (Frosinone or Ceccano-Sora exit, then SS 214 and SR 82 towards Arpino). By train: the nearest station is Frosinone or Roccasecca, on the Rome-Cassino line, with connections by bus or car.
Free entry to the festival area; dishes can be purchased directly at the Quartiere Arco food stalls. Driving is recommended to reach the square.
