The international music and digital arts festival in the Valley of the Temples
There is only one place in the world where you can listen to a sunset concert at the foot of a 2,500-year-old Doric temple and then wait for the dawn dancing among the ruins: it is the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily, and it happens every summer thanks to FestiValle. Launched in 2017, this international music and digital arts festival has quickly become one of the most original and recognizable events on the European scene, bridging contemporary artistic research with the preservation of archaeological heritage.
FestiValle does not take place in a single location; it is a widespread event that inhabits the most scenic spots of the Valley of the Temples Park. The beating heart is the Cava di Tufo, an ancient natural amphitheater transformed into the main stage (the Teatro dell'Efebo), which hosts the major evening concerts. At sunset, the music moves to the Temple of the Dioscuri, while more intimate performances find a home at Case Montana and the Kolymbethra Garden, one of the most poetic spots in the entire valley.
The most emotional moment is The Awakening of the Gods (Il Risveglio degli Dรจi), the sunrise show that takes place every year in front of the Temple of Concordia, one of the best-preserved Greek temples in the world: an immersive experience of myth, dance, and music featuring dozens of performers as the daylight slowly illuminates the columns. This is complemented by FestiValle Beach on the San Leone shore, featuring free daytime events.
The programming ranges from jazz to electronica, funk to club culture, with a strong international focus and great attention to visual and digital arts. FestiValle is also a project for the cultural enhancement of the territory: an event that has helped place Agrigento and Sicily on the European music map, especially in the year the city served as the Italian Capital of Culture. More than just a festival, it is a dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary that makes the Valley of the Temples a unique place in the world every August.
For its tenth anniversary, FestiValle returns to the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento from August 7 to 10, 2026, with the theme 10 Years Together, a celebration of independence, artistic research, and dialogue between contemporary music and archaeological heritage. Four days of concerts, DJ sets, performances, and digital arts spread between the Cava di Tufo, the Temple of the Dioscuri, the Kolymbethra Garden, and the Temple of Concordia. The sunrise show The Awakening of the Gods is also confirmed for this edition.
Among the international and Italian artists announced for the tenth edition:
Agrigento can be reached by car via the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway (Caltanissetta exit, then SS640) or the SS189 from Palermo. By train, the Agrigento Centrale station is connected to Palermo. The nearest airports are Palermo (approx. 130 km) and Catania (approx. 160 km). The Valley of the Temples is just a few minutes from the city center; dedicated shuttles are usually available during the festival.
Tickets are purchased exclusively online via the DICE platform (dice.fm). Four-day passes and single-day tickets are available; the sunrise show 'The Awakening of the Gods' requires a separate ticket. FestiValle Beach in San Leone is free to enter.
We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking in the archaeological park, as well as a light jacket for the night and sunrise hours. Agrigento offers numerous accommodation options; book well in advance given the high season in August.
