About Montagnana Ham Festival

For two long weekends in May, the walled city of Montagnana, in the province of Padua, transforms into the capital of Berico-Euganeo DOP Veneto Ham. Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II becomes the 'Court of Flavors', a large village of taste with tastings, show-cooking, sensory workshops, gourmet dinners, and meetings with producers and chefs. One of the main gastronomic festivals in the Veneto region, combining food and wine excellence, culture, and the unique setting of the Montagnana city walls, a 'Bandiera Arancione' (Orange Flag) village of the Touring Club.

The capital of sweet ham

The Festival of Veneto DOP Ham in Montagnana, in the province of Padua, is the event that celebrates every spring one of the gastronomic excellences of the Veneto region: the Berico-Euganeo DOP Veneto Ham, a sweet and fragrant product protected by the Consortium since 1996. The festival takes place in the heart of the walled city, one of the best-preserved medieval fortified walls in Europe.

The Court of Flavors

For the occasion, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II transforms into the Court of Flavors, a true village of taste. Here, guided tastings, show-cooking with chefs and well-known personalities, sensory workshops, the 'Salotto del Gusto' (Taste Lounge), and the Consortium's area alternate. There are also special themed dinners and meetings with producers and chefs, designed to showcase the supply chain and the territory of the Euganean and Berici Hills.

Beyond the ham

The festival is also an opportunity to discover Montagnana: visits to local ham factories, guided tours of the scenic Villa Pisani by Palladio and the historic center, and walks along the walls. An event that blends charcuterie tradition, Venetian culture, and slow tourism.

Montagnana Ham Festival — edition 2026

The 26th Festival of Veneto DOP Ham returns to Montagnana for two weekends, from May 14 to 17 and May 21 to 24, 2026, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the DOP recognition. Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II becomes the Court of Flavors with tastings, show-cooking, sensory workshops, gourmet dinners, and meetings with producers and chefs.

The 26th edition of the Festival of Veneto DOP Ham takes place in Montagnana over two long weekends (Thursday-Sunday): from May 14 to 17 and from May 21 to 24, 2026. The edition coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the DOP recognition for Berico-Euganeo Veneto Ham (1996-2026).
