The great November fair of Polesine, with national title since 1819
In Castelmassa, a town in Alto Polesine on the border with the provinces of Mantua, Modena, and Ferrara, the National Fair of Saint Martin is the event that attracts visitors from three regions every November. Established by imperial decree on May 10, 1819, with market attestations dating back to 1765, it is the only fair with a national title in Polesine: in 2026 it will reach its 208th edition.
For four days, the town center transforms into a large exhibition route: over 4 km of stalls and about 240 exhibitors occupy the streets of Castelmassa, alongside the historic Altopolesano Market Exhibition of Castelmassa (MAAC), now in its 43rd edition, and the luna park. Art exhibitions, displays of World War II military vehicles, vintage car and motorcycle rallies, photographic exhibitions, concerts, and DJ sets enrich the schedule.
The gastronomic heart of the fair is the Via dei Sapori Locali (Street of Local Flavors), where the Pro Loco and local rice producers offer traditional Polesine dishes: risottos, boiled meats, passatelli in broth, and much more. The Fair of Saint Martin of Castelmassa thus combines commerce, culture, entertainment, and gastronomy in one of the most heartfelt and long-standing events in the Veneto region.
The 208th National Fair of Saint Martin 2026 returns to Castelmassa in November, around the feast day of Saint Martin (November 11), following the 207th edition held from November 7 to 10, 2025. For 2026, the event's large scale is confirmed: over 4 km of stalls and about 240 exhibitors, the Altopolesano Market Exhibition (MAAC), the luna park, and the Street of Local Flavors with risottos, boiled meats, and passatelli in broth. The detailed program, including exhibitions, vintage car and motorcycle rallies, and concerts, will be published on the official website.
The detailed program for the 208th edition in 2026 will be published on the official website www.sanmartinoinfiera.eu in the weeks preceding the fair. Usual structure of the event, over four days in November:
