About Festival of Blue Fish

In August, the Crocetta seafront in Celle Ligure, on the Savona Riviera delle Palme, fills with the aroma of fried fish with the Festival of Blue Fish and Focaccette. Now in its 48th edition, the festival organized by AVIS offers three evenings of seafood gastronomy based on blue fish and traditional Ligurian focaccette, with live music every night. A classic of the Celle summer.

Blue Fish, the Taste of the Riviera

The Festival of Blue Fish and Focaccette is one of the most beloved gastronomic events of the summer in Celle Ligure, a town on the Riviera delle Palme in the province of Savona. Now in its 48th edition in 2026, it celebrates blue fish — anchovies, sardines, mackerel — a symbolic catch of the healthy, simple Mediterranean cuisine, accompanied by focaccette, small fried Ligurian flatbreads.

Three Evenings on the Seafront

The festival takes place on the Crocetta seafront, starting from 6:00 PM, with food stalls serving freshly fried fish and focaccette. The setting is the Ligurian Sea of the Riviera di Ponente, with tables overlooking the water and the convivial atmosphere of Celle's summer festivals.

A Charitable Feast

The event is organized by AVIS Celle Ligure, the blood donors association: the festival thus combines good food with a charitable cause, with proceeds going to the association's activities. Every evening, live music accompanies dinner, making the Festival of Blue Fish a highly anticipated event for locals and tourists alike.
