The festival of Aosta Valley's musical bands between Aymavilles and Aosta
The Festival des Harmonies Valdôtaines is the showcase celebrating the musical bands of the Aosta Valley, with wind instruments as the stars. The event, promoted by the Fédération des Harmonies Valdôtaines, features multiple concerts held between the Auditorium in Aymavilles and the Teatro Splendor in Aosta, bringing together the region's philharmonic orchestras and brass bands.
Bands have always been an institution in Aosta Valley communities: philharmonic orchestras, fanfares, and brass bands accompany patronal feasts, civil anniversaries, and village life. The festival unites this heritage in a series of concerts that highlight the work of musicians, often amateurs, and their conductors, fostering exchange and musical growth. Aymavilles, a town at the foot of its namesake castle in the Aosta plain, hosts one of the evenings with its Auditorium.
Admission to the concerts is free: an opportunity to discover the vibrancy of the Aosta Valley's band scene, featuring both traditional repertoires and concert pieces, and to support local ensembles. This event intertwines music and regional identity in the heart of the Aosta Valley.
The 2026 edition of the Festival des Harmonies Valdôtaines bears the title "Et l'on entend…" and focuses on wind instruments, with ten Aosta Valley bands involved (two more than the previous edition). The festival is spread across three concerts on the Sundays of March 15, 22, and 29, 2026, held at the Teatro Splendor in Aosta and the Auditorium in Aymavilles. It is organized by the Fédération des Harmonies Valdôtaines and admission is free.
