About Festival Academy
A new academy for young talents
The Festival dei Due Mondi Academy debuts in 2026 as an advanced musical training project of the renowned Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, in the province of Perugia. The initiative offers twenty young musicians under 35 – selected internationally from pianists, violinists, violists, and cellists – the opportunity to refine their skills alongside some of the most important performers on the world concert stage.
Masterclasses, chamber music, and concerts
The Academy's programme combines individual masterclasses, chamber music sessions, and public concerts included in the Festival's official schedule. Participants are therefore not just students, but fully-fledged protagonists of the Spoleto season, in direct dialogue between training and performance.
An exceptional faculty
Teaching is entrusted to top names on the international scene: Marc-André Hamelin, Benedetto Lupo, Giovanni Sollima, Kim Kashkashian, Marc Bouchkov, and Andrea Obiso, with the coordination of Massimo Spada. Participation is completely free for selected musicians, who are hosted by local families during the Academy period.
Festival Academy — edition 2026
The first edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi Academy kicks off on June 29, 2026, and runs until July 12, in parallel with the 69th edition of the Festival. Twenty musicians under 35 – pianists, violinists, violists, and cellists – selected internationally, take part in individual masterclasses, chamber music sessions, and public concerts integrated into the official programme. The Spoleto Young Award is presented, granting the most deserving student an artistic contract to perform at the 70th edition of the Festival.

By train: Spoleto station on the Rome-Ancona line. By car: Spoleto exit of the SS3 Flaminia. Activities take place at the Festival dei Due Mondi venues in the historic centre.
